Medical Students
The Gabriola Medical Clinic is a teaching clinic affiliated with the UBC Faculty of Medicine. You may see medical students working with your family practitioner during your appointment. These learners are supervised by your family physician and you will be notified of their presence at the time of check-in.
Residents
Residents are doctors who have graduated medical school with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. They are completing the final years of advanced medical training that prepares them for independent practice.
Remember: Students are in medical school, residents are doctors, attendings practice independently.
